This work replaces mineral oil with seawater drawn directly from the ocean: eliminating oil logistics and disposal, removing offshore leak risks, and benefiting from natural compatibility with the marine environment. Key challenges solved include corrosion-resistant friction pairs, sealing and lubrication of seawater hydraulic components, and medium temperature control. The concept extends to combined wind-wave harvesting — a granted Chinese invention patent supplies the yaw/pitch control system with wave-generated self-sustained power.
